The role
BlindAid are running several coffee events for our Service Users. These are great opportunities for people enjoy some social time outside of their homes, meet some new friends and to learn more about local organisations & activities that may be of interest.
We are running these in 2 locations at the moment:
Tower Hamlets – this event is held at The Bow Brew, 83 St Paul’s way, on alternate Thursdays at from 11-1pm
Lambeth – this event is held on alternate Tuesdays at the Ovalhouse Theatre in Kennington between 1-3pm
We are also looking to start more events in Lewisham and Westminster imminently.
Volunteers will have responsibility for greeting and helping to guide Service Users from travel points and helping to facilitate conversation between attendees during the event.
Visual Impairment awareness and sighted guide training will be provided by BlindAid.
The person
You have excellent conversational/interpersonal skills, sensitivity and a strong commitment to the welfare of others. You are courteous, reliable and completely trustworthy.
